The need for an educational institution for women was felt even before the days of our freedom struggle. In 1921 Mother Magdaline along with 3 other ICM sisters, established St.Ignatius' convent Higher Secondary School to provide education and develop religious commitments. The seed for this pioneering effort was sowed by the Jesuit Fathers. So the school was named after St. Ignatius the founder of the Jesuit congregation.
Today this institution has developed with outstanding success. The ICM sisters and staff members recognize the necessity to merge religious commitments with social responsibilities for the proper development of the human race. Every student must have good personal integrity to face the future. St.Ignatius' Convent Higher Secondary School develops the students to stand confidently against the challenges in the world.
The great contribution of the school towards development of the students has been reflected in the outstanding achievements in life of several former Ignatians. The school stands firmly committed today to develop and prepare students to face boldly the challenges of the world of tomorrow.
